We are seeking a skilled and motivated Solution Architect with expertise in the Manufacturing & Automation domain to join their team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in shaping the future and revolutionizing the IT landscape within the manufacturing industry. As a Solution Architect, your primary focus will be on driving innovation and optimizing processes through advanced automation solutions. The candidate is expected to be available onsite in the short term (1 month or weekly by demand, especially at the beginning) to work directly with client end-users and the tech team, addressing challenges and collaboratively brainstorming technical solutions.

Job description

• Take on the critical responsibility of aligning and designing the Manufacturing & Automation domain to drive efficiency and excellence in factory automation

• Collaborate closely with software architects, solution designers, and software developers to develop and implement cutting-edge IT solutions for strategic projects in your domain

• Offer expert guidance and support to colleagues in crafting innovative solution designs, including making informed decisions on component selection, interfaces, and the strategic choice between in-house development or standardization

• Propose suitable on-premise or cloud-based architectures based on comprehensive business requirements and objectives

• Demonstrate your policy competence within the domain, making impactful decisions and leading their successful implementation

• Actively contribute to finding cross-domain solutions and engage with stakeholders to ensure seamless integration

Requirements

• Hold a successfully completed degree in (business) computer science, industrial engineering, electrical engineering, physics, or a related field

• Possess a wealth of experience, with 7+ years in software development/architecture, factory automation, or IT consulting

• Showcase a compelling combination of business process and IT system competence, particularly within areas such as production IT, automation technology, or digital manufacturing

• Demonstrate a robust grasp of methodological and technical knowledge of software and automation solutions in shop floor IT, at the interface of IT and OT

• Exhibit strong experience with MES systems, device connectivity, IoT technologies, connection concepts, and/or cloud solutions

• Display a confident demeanour, exceptional communication skills, and unwavering enthusiasm

• Show a high level of initiative, outstanding teamwork, and adaptability

• Fluent proficiency in German, as well as good English language skills
